Policy on Financial Disclosures, Conflicts of Interest, and Grant Support
MedZone-Journal of Health Sciences (MJHS) maintains the highest standards of integrity and transparency in research. Authors are required to disclose any financial support, conflicts of interest, and grant funding associated with their research to ensure the credibility of the publication and uphold the trust of the scientific community. Full and accurate disclosure is essential for maintaining the integrity of the research process and the public’s confidence in the published work.
Conflicts of Interest:
Authors must disclose any personal or financial relationships that could potentially influence, or appear to influence, their research. This includes, but is not limited to, employment, consultancy, stock ownership, paid expert testimony, and travel grants received within the last three years. If no conflicts exist, authors must clearly state this. Disclosure of conflicts of interest is crucial for ensuring that the research is perceived as unbiased, allowing readers to make informed judgments about the potential influences on the findings.
Grant Support and Financial Contributions:
Authors must fully disclose any financial contributions or resources received for their research, including grants, funding, or equipment. For research funded by an external entity, authors must confirm that they had unrestricted access to the study data and take full responsibility for its collection, analysis, and interpretation. This ensures the transparency and integrity of the research process, making it clear that the findings are not influenced by external sources of funding. Full disclosure allows readers to assess the potential impact of financial contributions on the research outcomes.
Reviewer Disclosures:
Reviewers must also disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality when evaluating manuscripts. This step is critical for maintaining an unbiased peer review process. Transparent disclosure by reviewers contributes to the credibility and objectivity of the evaluation process, ensuring that manuscript decisions are based solely on the scientific merit of the work, rather than external influences or personal biases.
Publication of Disclosures:
MedZone-Journal of Health Sciences will publish all relevant disclosures regarding conflicts of interest, financial support, and grants alongside the corresponding articles. This ensures that readers are fully informed of any factors that might influence the interpretation of the research. By publishing these disclosures, MJHS enhances the transparency of its academic processes, allowing readers to assess potential biases and giving them the context needed to understand the research findings.
This policy is intended to promote trust, ensuring that research published in MedZone-Journal of Health Sciences is credible, transparent, and reliable for both the scientific community and the public. The journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity by fostering a transparent publishing environment where all potential conflicts and influences are disclosed, ensuring the research is both objective and trustworthy.
